2017 Legislative Wrap Up Breakfast
Less than 20 days left in the Florida’s 60-day legislative session, and many major issues remain unresolved. According to Jim Saunders, reporter with The News Service of Florida, that’s not unusual, as Lawmakers typically leave tough stuff to the end. But the House and Senate will have to resolve key differences if they hope to end the session as scheduled on May 5.
Hear a firsthand “wrap-up” of the 2016 session, engage with elected legislators on the outcomes in Tallahassee, and learn how the session impacted our local business community. As decisions are made related to the budget, economic development, education, healthcare, water, workers’ compensation insurance, medical marijuana, gambling, guns, and the death penalty, this opportunity to meet with Polk’s Legislative Delegation becomes increasingly more important.
The Lakeland Chamber of Commerce hosts the 2017 Legislative Wrap-Up Breakfast on Tuesday, May 16, 2017, from 7:00 AM to 9:00 AM, at the Lake Mirror Auditorium. The event is presented by the Bank of Central Florida, and The Mosaic Company. Senators Denise Grimsley, Tom Lee, and Kelli Stargel, along with Representatives Ben Albritton, Colleen Burton, Neil Combee, Sam H. Killebrew, and Mike LaRosa have been invited to attend. Ticket sales are robust and the event is expected to sell out.
The event is being held at the Lake Mirror Auditorium, 121 S Lake Ave, Lakeland, FL 33801 on Tuesday, May 16, 2017, with doors open and breakfast available at 7:00 am, program begins at 7:30 am, and event ends at 9:00 am.
