Began as a small craft show on the Lakeland Library Lawn in 1971, Mayfaire by-the-Lake and has grown to be one of the most prestigious, fun filled outdoor fine art festivals in Florida. The two-day festival was ranked 45th by Sunshine Artist Magazine in 2018. Mayfaire has expanded and continues the Mother's Day tradition of sharing the creations of fine artists and artisans with an enthusiastic community. Along the shores of the beautiful Lake Morton, more than 70,000 visitors enjoy the works of approximately 160 artists in this juried fine arts competition, with $17,000 in awards presented to artists each year. Polk Museum of Art at Florida Southern College welcomes you to share in this long-standing Lakeland tradition.
This community event supports the Polk Museum of Art at Florida Southern College. Proceeds from Mayfaire by-the-Lake help provide scholarships to students attending our summer programs and helps to provide free admission into the Museum year round.
